Inspired by Chelsea


Our team is brimming with fresh ideas and inspiration after their annual trip to Chelsea Flower Show in May. Will, Jackie, Jason and Vicky had a fabulous time at the event and have created a special Inspired by Chelsea display to showcase some of the creative and cutting-edge planting they saw.

60th Birthday Celebrations


Barton Grange is celebrating 60 years of growing success! It was on 10th May 1963 that our founder Eddie Topping opened the North West’s first garden centre in a small shed next to the car park of his parent’s hotel in Barton, Preston.

Best Plant Area in the UK


Barton Grange is celebrating after winning the Ruxley Rose Award for the Best Plant Area in the UK for the second year running. Members from the garden centre and plant area team collected the prestigious trophy at the GCA Conference on Monday 23rd January.

A Lasting Tribute to Her Majesty The Queen


Barton Grange Garden Centre received a letter of thanks from the Royal Forestry Society (RFS) this week for their recent charity donation. For the month of October, Barton Grange pledged to give £20 from the sale of selected trees to the RFS in memory of Her Majesty the Queen who was a patron of the society for more than 70 years.

Let The Bells Ring Out For Charity


Spread some festive goodwill across Lancashire this Christmas with our charity bell hanging decoration. Barton Grange Garden Centre is donating £2 from the sale of every bell to help support local charities.




Festive Fundraising Success


Our Christmas events helped to raise £12,000 for good causes across Lancashire. The combined success of Santa’s Christmas Journey and the Christmas Carol Charity Concert meant we were able to donate £1500 to eight different local charities.

Best Plant Area in the UK for 2022


Our plant area team celebrate a big win after being awarded The Ruxley Rose. This highly prestigious prize awarded by the Garden Centre Association (GCA), names Barton Grange as the garden centre with the best plant area in the whole of the UK! This award was last won by Barton Grange back in 2011, so it’s a achievement for the team.

Best Destination Garden Centre in the UK

Barton Grange Garden Centre has done it once again! At a virtual awards presentation held on 15th February 2022, Barton Grange Garden Centre was announced as the winner of the ‘Destination Garden Centre of the Year’ award. This title presented by the Garden Centre Association (GCA) names Barton Grange as the best large garden centre within the UK.
