Christmas Charity Donations
A Lancashire business has raised thousands of pounds for local charities with a little help from its younger visitors.
The Barton Grange Group pledged a donation of £2 from every ticket sold in its Santa’s Christmas Journey event. Each child visiting the magical grotto in November and December was given a special token and asked to place it in the box of the good cause they would like to support.
Thanks to the children’s input a total of £2000 was raised for both Derian House Children’s Hospice and Lancashire Wildlife Trust. A further £1000 each went to Rosemere Cancer Foundation, Child Action North West and Lancashire Mind.
Family-run business Barton Grange generously rounded up each donation to the nearest thousand pounds.
Barton Grange Garden Centre and Flower Bowl Entertainment Centre Managing Director Guy Topping presented the cheques to representatives from the charities at a special ceremony held at The Flower Bowl on Tuesday 25 January 2022.
Guy says: “We are delighted to hand over these cheques to such worthy local causes and hope this money will help each organisation make a difference in our local communities. I’d also like to thank our young visitors who took the time to think about others at Christmas by choosing their favourite charities.”
The Barton Grange Group has long supported local charities and organisations throughout Lancashire and the North West.
