Alocasia x Amazonica
Also known as Elephant Ears thanks to their arrow-shaped leaves, Alocasias are striking plants that will add a touch of tropical beauty to your home. Native to Southeast Asia, they thrive in high humidity so prefer bright, indirect sunlight. Their large glossy leaves will follow the direction of the sun, so make sure to rotate yours occasionally. Regular misting will be appreciated too. In addition to their statement good locks, Alocasias are ranked highly for their air-purifying qualities and are believed to symbolise prosperity and good fortune.
Anthurium
This stunning evergreen perennial will add a splash of tropical colour to your home. Also known as the flamingo flower, Anthuriums have exotic heart-shaped leaves and striking flowers in shades of red, pink, white, green, yellow and even blue. To thrive they prefer a sunny spot but not direct sunlight. Ideal for kitchens and bathrooms, only water when the top inch of the soil is dry. Bright and glossy leaves are the sign of a happy Anthurium!
Areca Lutescens
Also known as, Acreca Palm, this houseplant will bring a tropical vibe to your home with its bright and glossy upward-curving fronds. Also known as Dypsis Lutescens or Golden Cane Palm, the Areca is a popular and easy-to-care for variety that’s known for its air purifying qualities. Originating from the forests of Madagascar, it’s happiest in bright indirect light, although can tolerate a shadier spot. Keep the soil evenly moist and only water when the top inch of soil feels slightly dry. To keep in tip-top condition, mist with plant spray from time to time.

Calathea
Add a tropical touch to your home with this beautiful bold-leafed plant which loves sunshine and high humidity. Native to the Brazilian rainforest, Calatheas thrive in bright, indirect light. While they can tolerate some shade, ample sunlight encourages growth and vibrant foliage. These stunning houseplants like their soil to be evenly moist with little dry periods between waterings. To avoid browning leaves, water with filtered or distilled water, or rainwater rather than tap water. They also love a good misting.
Dracaena
Also known as the dragon tree, plants in the Dracaena genus are easy to care for and very rewarding to grow. With their striking tropical leaves and resilient nature, they are an excellent choice for beginners. While they enjoy bright, indirect light they can tolerate lower light conditions too. Dracaenas prefer underwatering to overwatering, so allow the soil to dry out between waterings. If you notice yellowing leaves, you may be overwatering. Be aware, they are toxic to pets.
Monstera Deliciosa
Extremely hardy and easy to care for, it’s no wonder that Monstera is one of the most popular houseplants. Also known as the Swiss Cheese Plant, this lush climbing evergreen thrives in medium indirect light. Just sit back and watch it grow!
Peperomia
Peperomias are a group of small, easy-going houseplants with waxy and often highly textured leaves. They come from the Brazilian rainforest, so it’s not surprising that they prefer warm environments. For best results, place in a bright spot that gets plenty of indirect light.
Spathiphyllum
The peace lily, or Spathiphyllum, is one of the most popular houseplants we sell thanks to its striking good looks and easy-going nature. Being rainforest plants, they like a warm, humid and semi-shaded environment. Peace lilies are very good at letting you know when they need watering as they’ll start to wilt. All they need is a bit of water and some TLC to make them blooming happy again!
Yucca
Yucca plants are a good option for busy people as they are easy to grow, tolerant of neglect and can be live for a long time. Unlike many houseplants, they can cope with bright sunshine so are a good plant for a sunny corner where little else will thrive.
Cyclamen
Florist’s cyclamen or indoor cyclamen make lovely houseplants, providing a much-needed pop of colour through late autumn and winter. With beautiful green and silver foliage, their striking petals come in shades of white, pink and red. It’s no wonder they are such popular gifts! There are two top tips to ensure your cyclamen thrive. The first is to keep them out of direct light and the second is to avoid overwatering.
Amaryllis
Perfect for adding a pop of colour to your home, amaryllis (Hippeastrum) will bloom year after year if you care for them correctly. Available in a range of gorgeous shades including red, burgundy, pink, peach and orange, it’s no wonder this festive flowering plant makes such a popular Christmas gift. A member of the Narcissus family, amaryllis like a spot in full light but not full sun. Its flowers can reach a diameter of 20cm which is what really gives this stunning plant the wow factor.
Poinsettia
Welcome to Christmas in a pot! No other houseplant quite captures the festive spirit like the Poinsettia. Euphorbia pulcherrima’s scarlet bracts always provide a cheery splash of colour at this time of year. Red is not the only colour – discover pretty pinks, oranges, creams and whites too. Aim to keep Poinsettias away from radiators in indirect sunshine and dust the leaves to keep them looking their best. Water lightly when the soil has started to dry out. Show them a little love and you’ll be able to enjoy your festive plant well beyond Christmas!
