Most people think that to draw portraits is only for those with an inherent talent. In fact learning to draw anything is much more about learning to see things in a different way.
You require the minimum of equipment and no prior knowledge on this one day workshop with artist and art tutor Graham Lowe.
Graham will demonstrate a range of basic portrait drawing strategies and techniques that will give you the confidence and the skills to create your own portrait drawings. He will give step by step demonstrations and there will be lots of one to one help.
You will gain new skills and learn how to use simple drawing techniques and strategies to create portraits drawings in black & white. The morning will be spent learning the basics, proportions, how to compose a portrait etc. In the afternoon you will have the opportunity to create a drawing working from a portrait model.
All you will need is:
- An A3 sketch pad
- A 4B pencil or graphite stick (a slim one like a pencil, available from any art shop)
- An eraser and a pencil sharpener.
