Modern Calligraphy Workshop with Mellor & Rose

This Modern Calligraphy Workshop is suitable for complete beginners and intermediates. Guided by expert tutors, we will begin by covering the fundamentals of dip pen calligraphy before moving onto learning the upper and lower alphabet, how to link letters, first words and phrases – all exciting! Silk Painting Greeting Cards with Crafty Diane

Ever admired silk painting but thought it was beyond you? – then this is the workshop for you! No previous experience or artistic ability necessary. You will make 5 greeting cards with a choice of themes ( eg flowers, animals) using a variety of colours of silk paints on pre guttad patterns. This will allow you to concentrate on the paints and how they flow on the silk.

Leaded Stained Glass Mosaic Sun Catcher with Crafty Diane
Event Date: Sunday 12th May 2024 | 10am – 12:30pm | £50pp
Design and decorate a 20cm glass circular sun catcher which has been pre-leaded for strength and longevity. You can use an array of multicoloured stained glass, cabochons, and beads to design the suncatcher. Learn how to cut and shape glass in this workshop. Once the pieces are stuck down you will be given grout and instructions to grout the piece at home once the adhesive is dry.
Decoupage a Wooden Flower Pot with Crafty Diane
Event Date: Sunday 12th May 2024 | 2:30pm – 4:30pm | £30pp
Decorate a wooden pot using acrylic or chalk paint, then bespoke it using napkin decoupage in whatever design or colour you fancy. There will be lots of designs to choose from – flowers, animals, insects, seaside, camping, gardening and more. Decoupage is a really useful technique to learn as it can be used to upcycle many ornaments and furniture. When completed you can add rope handles to your pot.
Art in the Garden: Fused Glass and Iron Ornament Workshop with Crafty Diane
Event Date: Monday 13th May 2024 | 10am – 12:45pm | £80 for 20cm version | £139 for 30cm version
Decorate a 20cm or 30cm glass circle with Bullseye glass to produce a colourful, eye catching piece of art for your garden. Your piece will then be fired in a kiln to be collected at a later date along with the bespoke iron stand. All the materials, tuition, and help to design and make your own piece of fused glass for your garden is provided.
Dichroic Glass Jewellery Workshop with Crafty Diane

Lancashire Hawks and Owls is a private organisation that rescues and looks after birds of prey which cannot be returned to the wild.
The team from Lancashire Hawks and Owls are coming to Barton Grange Garden Centre this month. At this event you’ll have a chance to meet both the people and the birds they rescue! All the birds of prey in the display are hand reared and totally approachable which means you can touch them and have your photo taken with them for a charge of £2 (cash only). Come along for a fascinating look at these wonderful creatures.

Best Destination Garden Centre in the UK

Barton Grange Garden Centre has done it once again! At a virtual awards presentation held on 15th February 2022, Barton Grange Garden Centre was announced as the winner of the ‘Destination Garden Centre of the Year’ award. This title presented by the Garden Centre Association (GCA) names Barton Grange as the best large garden centre within the UK.
£7000 Donated to Local Charities

The Barton Grange Group pledged a donation of £2 from every ticket sold in its Santa’s Christmas Journey event. Each child chose the good cause they would like to support during their trip, with totals totted up this January and awarded to the charities in a presentation at The Flower Bowl Entertainment Centre.
