OUR CHRISTMAS DISPLAYS ARE 'BEST IN UK'
Barton Grange Garden Centre has once again stolen the show with its Christmas displays which have been named as the ‘Best in the UK’ by the Garden Centre Association. This is the fifth year running that the Preston-based family run business has won this national competition.
‘Lights, Camera, Christmas part 2’ is the theme for the Barton Grange displays this year which feature some of the most popular Christmas films of all time.
Highlights of the displays include the fabulous Chitty Chitty Bang Bang car, the quaint houses of Whoville where the Grinch is hiding, a scene from White Christmas, that famous staircase from the Sound of Music and Father Christmas on his sleigh.
There are giant dancing snowmen and beautiful mountain landscapes covered with miniature villages, ice rinks and fairground attractions. The trees are shown off under a huge black, starlit sky and in the entrance to the restaurant there are gingerbread houses next to a waterfall, all completely edible.
Barton Grange Garden Centre MD Guy Topping says: “To win for the fifth year running really is an amazing achievement and I am so proud of the whole team who do such a brilliant job.
“Our displays have to be seen to be believed this year – they are bigger and better than ever before. We’d like to say a big thank you to all our customers who have given us really good feedback which helps us to keep improving each year.”
Barton Grange won the regional competition at the end of November to be named best in the North West. All regional winners across the UK were then judged again for the national competition and Barton Grange once again came out on top.
