Taking care of our plants

For much of the year, the outdoor plantarea is where most of our customers prefer to be – weather permitting. Here you’ll find thousands of trees, shrubs, climbers and herbaceous perennials, displayed in informative and imaginative ways to give you all the inspiration you need.

Many of the plants on sale in our plantareas have been grown in our own award-winning nurseries, whilst others have been carefully selected from the best nurseries around Europe. What’s more, because it’s important to us that you get the best results from the plants you buy, all the trees, shrubs and climbers we sell are covered by our superb 5 year hardy plant guarantee*.

Throughout the year, each season’s star performers take centre stage in an area set aside for them to really show off their colour, foliage and perfume – a treat for the senses whatever the time of year. Elsewhere plants are set out to enable you to find them quickly and easily.

Our expert staff can provide advice on soil requirements, how and where to plant, pruning and aftercare. Likewise, if you have any problem areas in your garden - a shady corner, perhaps, or certain type of soil - they can advise on the plants that will survive and flourish.
