WINNERS! BEST CHRISTMAS DISPLAYS IN THE UK

Barton Grange Garden Centre at Brock has once again won the award for the Best Christmas Displays in the UK. This is the third year running that Barton Grange has won the award – twice at Brock and before that at Barton.

Take a seat, next to ‘Mr T’

A life-size sculpture of Barton Grange Chairman Eddie Topping has been unveiled. The statue of 'Mr T' as he is affectionately known by many Barton Grange employees, is attached to its very own bench at the front of the Garden Centre.

BRITISH PIE WEEK
Join us as we celebrate the national institution that is the great British Pie!

Come along to our Farm Shop between 11am and 3pm all week and sample the delights of locally produced Carefoot’s Pies from Longridge. Made with meat from local livestock and the freshest of ingredients, Carefoots pies are a real favourite amongst our customers. And now you can find out why.
Steve Morley, our pastry chef will also be doing Pie Making demonstrations in our Cook Shop on Friday 5th and Saturday 6th March at 12 noon and 2pm, using Carefoot’s ingredients.

‘GROW YOUR OWN’ Weekend

Demonstrations and advice all weekend from some of the best ‘grow your own-ers’ in the country. Top veggie grower, BBC presenter and Chelsea Gold Medallist, Medwyn Williams, will be here to share his amazing knowledge and expertise on growing vegetables. We’ll also have demos from Kevin Waters of the Garden Works and a live broadcast by BBC Radio Lancashire’s gardening expert, Bill Blackledge. Come along and find out how you could soon be harvesting your own fruit, vegetables and salad ingredients from your garden or patio.

PANSY FESTIVAL

A stunning, colourful celebration of this lovely flower. Dozens of varieties on display, some which you may never have seen before. Come along and vote for your favourite, and we'll enter you into our free prize draw.

Monday 5th April - Easter Monday
LANCASHIRE HAWKS AND OWLS

Come and meet the people and the birds from Lancashire Hawks & Owls, a private organisation that rescues and looks after birds of prey which cannot be returned to the wild. All of the birds in the display are hand reared and totally approachable, which enables you to touch them and even have your photo taken with them. Come along for a fascinating look at these wonderful creatures.

Wednesday 5th May
'HATS OFF' LADIES DAY
Join us for another fabulous Ladies Day when we are joined by Gina Foster, official milliner to Royal Ascot and hat maker to the stars.

Gina will be with us to give a fascinating talk and demonstration on her amazing hat designs. Gina has created hats for Kylie Minogue’s Showgirl tour and the latest Harry Potter movie, and she was the official milliner for the Epsom Derby Festival in 2008. Following Gina’s talk, there’ll be a short demo from Chic Lingerie of Garstang.

Then, after your refreshments (see below), it’s all aboard the Kingfisher Canal Cruiser where Steve our pastry chef will treat you to chocolate demo’s and tastings whilst you cruise on the Lancaster Canal.

There are two options for this Ladies Day:
Ladies Day with two course lunch in the Riverside Café - £45 per person
Ladies Day with Cream Tea - £35 per person
Precise timings to be confirmed soon.

Go on, ladies, release your inner showgirl and join us for this indulgent and girly day. Tickets will be released soon but you can secure your place by leaving your name at the Ticket Sales till .

ORCHID FESTIVAL

We'll be joined by some of the UK's leading Orchid experts for a weekend of advice and demonstrations. Talks will include 'Orchids for Beginners' and 'Hardy Orchids for the Garden' and there will be repotting demonstrations too. Further details will be available soon.
